FAQs

Q: How did PVG start. What is PVG's company history?

A: In 2002, Robert Brubaker, the company founder formed Pro Video Group in Baltimore, MD with just one employee. From that humble beginning almost a decade ago, PVG has grown into a full-service Event Technology Management company! PVG provides quality Audio, Video and Lighting services for events and shows throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Pro Video Group is also the in-house Audio Visual provider for the Hippodrome Theater, the Lyric Opera House and the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall located in downtown Baltimore. In 2010, Pro Video Group launched an expansive array of additional services including Corporate Cinema, Webcasting, and Internet & Collateral Marketing & Graphic Design services.

Q: What is corporate cinema?

A: The idea of “Corporate Cinema” is to transform the ordinary video, whether for training or marketing purposes, into something memorable and extraordinary. By utilizing writers, directors, and cinematographers with extensive backgrounds in the film industry, we can create a unique experience for your viewer that is truly unexpected.

Q: What is Event Technology Management, and how does Pro Video Group separate itself from the competition?

A: Event Technology Management goes beyond the lines of a typical Audio/Visual provider. From lighting to projection to broadcasting to décor, we have the resources to provide it all. Our goal is to make your event cohesive and remarkable without you having to do all the work.

Q: How can I use technology to reduce my carbon footprint?

A: Utilizing Webcasting with remote sites, cameras and audio capture can make a local meeting global, allowing your company to virtually expand without the environmental impact. Instead of having all attendees in one location, webcasting can save the time and money associated with transporting people while increasing production value at each venue.

Q: How can PVG help me increase my market presence via web technologies?

A: Try to picture McDonald’s without the Golden Arches...you’d drive right past them, wouldn’t you? Similarly, if you have the best website in the world, but no one can find it, it doesn’t do much good. It's like having a billboard in the middle of the forest - it looks great but no one can see it! That’s where Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, comes in. When PVG constructs your website, we write and code the site using the latest Content Management System [CMS] technology with the goal of making it easy to find during a search of Google or another search engine. Our expertise in Internet Marketing & Advertising — Search Engine Marketing, SEO, and Pay-Per-Click (and Analytics) — translates to more visitors to your site, more attention, and more room for your company to grow due to greater online exposure. If you're looking to upgrade your website - you may need to add a few more cubicles.

Q: What is a “Viral Video” and how can it impact my business?

A: A viral video is one that becomes popular through the process of Internet sharing, typically through video sharing websites, social media and email. We have seen our virals viewed in over 120 countries in the course of a month with the right online advertising & marketing campaigns, and sales for one of our clients soar over 30%. Viral videos can be created on a small budget with limited resources and are a great way to interject some humor into your business.

Q: Why should I decide to film my event in HD vs. SD?

A: This is situation-dependant. Certain events may benefit from the increased resolution of high definition [HD], and some just may not require it. We always want to use the right tool for the job, and if HD could make a dramatic difference for you, we will certainly recommend it. We have the equipment to film, record, and broadcast in a variety of formats, and will use whatever is appropriate to get your content where it needs to go.

Q: Why is recording/archiving our event important and how can I use this content in the future?

A: Our belief is that if a camera is present, the event should be recorded. From marketing to training to tourism, our content can be repurposed in a variety of ways, so the minimal cost associated with recording your event should always be considered. Posting video on your website or broadcast emailing a link to your clients is simple and free, and we can provide it to you in whatever format best fits your needs.
